Alors que nous refermons le chapitre de 2025, nous sommes ravi·es de partager une œuvre d’un artiste dont la pratique explore la notion de guérison et de reconnexion. Hyacinthe Ouattara déconstruit les textiles et les recompose en formes organiques, célébrant les élans vitaux qui relient les choses entre elles, des impulsions d’interconnexion qui nous invitent à plonger au cœur même de ce qui fait notre humanité.

Hyacinthe Ouattara (b. 1981, Burkina Faso) explores intimacy, memory, and transmission through textile. Using yarn, stitching, and knots - what he calls “sewn hearts” - he creates fragile yet powerful forms that speak of care, protection, and ancestral heritage.

Organic Constellation (2019) belongs to an eponymous series in which the artist sews and ties, illustrating what it takes to repair, to heal and to restore connection where a tear once existed. Through an organic network of threads and fabrics - visible stitches and tangled fibers - Ouattara evokes notions of interconnection, origins, and the quiet poetry of life itself. The work celebrates a vital impulse to hold things together, an impulse of interconnection, even interdependence, that binds us to the world around us.
