Overdose
Welcome to P.O.C., inside Galila's world and the collection’s inaugural exhibition: Overdose.
Surprise is just as exhilarating for the founder as it is for the viewer when revealing a joyful chaos. As François De Coninck puts it, "[The collection] is organised on subjective terms, an order principle from within.” This order encompasses a wide range of themes such as matchstick, brush and pen, black and white, chair, shoe and cigarette, writing, eroticism, Hitler, book, measurement, money, obsession, eye, egg, watermelon and tyre, pubis, religion, tap, tape and so on…
Through its organic and intuitive layout the eclectic exhibition reflects on these themes and is marked mostly by a wealth of passion and overflowing energy, just like its "artoholic" creator. Overdose unfolds a personal universe combining shapes, textures, colours and materials as the embodiment of ideas, emotions, quests, dreams and fantasies the artists and collector share in common. The result is of pure abundance, rich in surprises, never lacking a touch of humour.
With the creation of P.O.C., Galila is entering a new stage in this adventure. By opening Pandora's box, she wishes to share her passion and questioning on the very limits of artworks and art itself by allowing appreciation without ranking and above all with complete freedom.
