Our Collection Travels – "Thomas Ott - From Scratch" @Cartoonmuseum Basel
We are delighted to announce that the artwork Eve-Adam-God from our collection will be presented as part of the retrospective exhibition dedicated to illustrator Thomas Ott at the Cartoonmuseum Basel (Switzerland) from March 22 to June 22, 2025.
Recognized as one of the most influential contemporary Swiss comic artists, Thomas Ott has developed a unique visual language, combining the dramatic aesthetics of pulp fiction with silent and unsettling narratives infused with macabre humor. His meticulous scratchboard technique, where each image is carefully carved with a craft knife, creates scenes of striking intensity, oscillating between nightmare and grotesque.
Through this retrospective, the Cartoonmuseum Basel offers an in-depth exploration of Thomas Ott’s universe, showcasing original works from his albums, animated films, objects, and previously unseen sketches. We are thrilled to contribute to this tribute to an artist whose singular approach and exceptional talent continue to influence the world of comics and visual arts.
